Indoor / Outdoor
Indoor The video below will give you a good idea of what an indoor race is like...
We practice
indoors 2-6 times a week depending on the time of the year.
Indoor practices early in the season aren’t as frequent as they
are later in the season. As the season progresses, the frequency
and intensity of the training increases.
Indoor practices
are used to prepare skaters for indoor competitive events. Our
indoor training prepares skaters to
compete in the South Florida Speed League Meets, Invitationals, Regionals and Indoor Nationals.
Indoor training
sessions last from 1.5 – 3 hours and incorporate numerous
skating
drills, races,
stretches,
off-skates training and more.
Indoor training
sessions are typically conducted in the morning or late evening.
You can review our training schedule
here.
Although not
required, parents of
skaters typically stay to watch the indoor training sessions and
to cheer for the skaters during practice races and drills.
We allow team
members and non-team members to attend our indoor practices thru
April of each year. May, June and
July are reserved for team members only as we will
incorporate race strategies into our program that will
prepare them for Regionals and Nationals.
Out
The video below
will give you a good idea of what an outdoor race is like...
All skaters are
invited to attend outdoor training
sessions. Our coaches will lead the
outdoor skaters in training consisting of distance
work, sprints,
build-ups,
intervals, hill work, pack
strategies and more. Distances ranging from 7.5 to 30 miles will
be covered during most outdoor training sessions.
Outdoor training
sessions are a great way to reduce stress… what could be better
than skating outdoors on smooth trails winding through the
Florida Greenway?
Whether it’s
indoor or outdoor, I’m sure you’ll find a place in our program
that fits what you are looking for!
