The skater’s self-assurance in his or her ability grows and they
are becoming stronger, but that does not guarantee the success
of the skater. The growing bond between the skaters ensures that
success. The strongest skaters have depended on having other
skaters “push them” to exceed their limits.
The dynamics associated with a skater’s involvement in
practices, fund-raisers, meets and other events builds
cohesiveness. Likewise, the parents of skaters and the adult
skaters enjoy watching and cheering for the team members,
supervising the fund-raising events, going out to eat together
after practices and meets… great friendships are born out of
this sport.
